In your opinion, does the success of a team mostly depend on the leadership of the leader or the attitude and performance of the whole team?

In my experience the success of a team is mostly dependent on the leadership qualities of the team's leader. A team leader with a positive attitude and good communication skills has a greater impact on performance and group attitude than the abilities of the individual members. A team without leadership is much more likely to perform below their capability.

Of course the attitude and performance of the whole team counts but the leader's attitude and performance carries a lot more weightage. Being negative a leader can destroy the positive efforts of a whole team. On the other hand being positive he can neutralize the negativity of 20-40% of his team members and still lead his team to success.

The leader is also part of the team, just like in football the team has a captain and a coatch. It is a fair assumption that the leader has been chosen by senior management for his leadership skills and therefore his team performance guide and inspired by him is what counts.

Leader is a coach and mentor he definitely has influence on the team however he alone cannot accomplish the job but success is always as a result of good team work and leader has to make sure that right kind of attitude he is able to bring about across his team through his skills.

 

Yes to some extent, cause i believe the character of the leader reflects in the functionality of team.

Attitude and performance of the whole team is very crucial. However, it is up to the leader to keep their focus directed towards the target set by the management. 

It suppose to be blend of all. If only leadership without the performance of the team, you can't succeed as a team and at the same without a good leader you cannot utilize your team services efficiently to succeed. Therefore I feel it is a combination of all. Thanks.

A good leader will understand the capabilities of each of his work family members to design a team that complete each other to achieve a certain task and will align all the teams to achieve the company strategy and targets by affecting their culture, encouraging the right behaviors  starting from himself and rewarding the right results then as part of his team they will all achieve success together .

Without good governance and leadership a good team cannot achieve success. A good leader with right tools and methods can motivate weak players and drive the whole team to success.

As per my experience it depends on attitude and performance of the whole team which is driven by a great leader 

exactly the attitude and performance of the whole team is the way of the success of the team
