It is a terminology which describes the transfer of electronic data from one PC to another using removable media drives such as pen drives, floppy disk drives, external hard drives, compact disk or magnetic tapes.  Sneakers taken from term Shoes. Meaning you will carry the electronic data physically and stored into external drives and transfer into another computer.

Sneakernet is an informal term describing the transfer of electronic information, especially computer files, by physically moving removable media such as magnetic tape, floppy disks, compact discs, USB flash drives (thumb drives, USB stick) or external hard drives from one computer to another, usually in lieu of transmitting the information over a computer network.

Alternatively referred to as a Floppy-Net, Shoenet, TennisNet, and Walknet. A sneakernet is slang used to describe the transfer of data through physical means, mainly by walking diskettes or storage tapes from one location to another instead of using a real network.
