No doubt that Job hunting has changed dramatically in the past decade. Companies and job seekers alike have moved away from traditional print advertising to the Internet and its many forms of social media to find “the perfect fit.” Online resources like LinkedIn, Bayt, MySpace and Facebook are surging in popularity and all age groups are quickly adopting these as tools to aide in the job search process. Though recruiters and personal relationships remain the most effective means to building your network and securing a new job, using the latest digital mediums can be a great way to supplement your search. And as HR professionals and recruiters embrace these new technologies from a recruiting perspective, knowing how to capitalize on the available digital mediums is essential to a successful job search. If it’s on the web, it’s public! Some of today’s savviest job seekers are using social media outlets such as MySpace (40 million unique users), Facebook and LinkedIn to get their foot in the door and become the top candidate in a search (through such practices as networking sites, blogs and video resumes).

But just as using these sites can help a search, social media outlets can just as quickly harm a search , if the content on the web is deemed unprofessional. Employers are scouring the web more and more for candidates and, thanks to the information available online, they can conduct instant background checks — most commonly by “Googling” an individual’s name. Personal information on job candidates is everywhere these days from websites and chat rooms to alumni sites and more. “Because social media and online job searching components are now part of the norm, candidates need to know how to benefit from the use of these tools in order to be successful in their search,” says Bernadette Kenny, Chief Career Officer at Ajilon. “A job seeker’s personal posts on social media outlets, as well as their overall ‘persona’ on the Internet, can harm their hunt for the perfect job  or they can turn it around and use these same tools to help them land a great position.”

Social media outlets can help you get your foot in the door.A simple Google search of your name provides employers with an instant background check.

Every post, tweet, share, photo, video and link you provide leaves an impression online a digital footprint that can be viewed by potential employers.

Its an opportunity for social media to show our skills to preferred employer. Bur we have to be: -

1) Professional

2) No personal updates (Its not an facebook)

3) We clear about skills. Do not add extra curricular part in proessional.

Bottom line - we have received a great platform to share our professional mind and create propagndist with exploring the same for better outcome.

Professional worl reach with professional mind with skill approach.

Not going to be easy, even when you have the best what the companies ae looking for. Job hunting is a job itself, so don't take it for granted.

Same like marketing a business, you need to market yourself. For this, you need build profiles on good platforms. LinkedIn (the only great platform I know which runs worldwide), is the one best place to market yourself. Build a great profile there, ad people, follow influencers, and keep applying for jobs relevant to your profession. But don't be a moron who out "INTERESTED" in the comment section when it is clearly mentioned that send your resume to the email provided.

After LinkedIn, find other job portals and create your profile there too. Bayt.com is one such portal. Then this mode of interaction (the questioning section) is one other way to increase your value on social media.

In short, it is a matter of search and research. Apply where you best can fit in. Recommend the jobs suitable for your friends. Keep an eye on jobs being posted on regular basis but be a smart hunter.

Some factor could help but I don't its a perfect to seek Job with the help of Social Media

  • Some Employer prefer to view your activity over Social media. But, I personally feel it's cannot be taken into account without meeting interviewee in Person.
  • Your connecting network over Social Media will reflect your skills and profession
  • Your Business campaign over Social Media will also let Employer to keep eye on you for better opportunity.
  • Promoting your Idea on related social media Pages
  • Your Interest and Passion on Social media regarding Books, Blogs, Webinars and Website reflect your personality. Which is positive sign as per Employers point of view.
  • Joining groups or clubs over social media will also help.
  • Following most Inspiring personalities over will also reflect your way of thinking, which positive as per Employer.

In this regard i would like to share a qoute;Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

"A disruptive innovation is an innovation that creates a new market and value network and eventually disrupts an existing market and value network, displacing established market leaders and alliances. The term was defined and phenomenon analyzed by Clayton M. Christensen beginning in.[2] More recent sources also include "significant societal impact" as an aspect of disruptive innovation.[3]

Not all innovations are disruptive, even if they are revolutionary. For example, the automobile was not a disruptive innovation, because early automobiles were expensive luxury items that did not disrupt the market for horse-drawn vehicles. The market for transportation essentially remained intact until the debut of the lower-priced Ford Model T in.[4] The mass-produced automobile was a disruptive innovation, because it changed the transportation market, whereas the first thirty years of automobiles did not.

Disruptive innovations tend to be produced by outsiders. The business environment of market leaders does not allow them to pursue disruption when they first arise, because they are not profitable enough at first and because their development can take scarce resources away from sustaining innovations (which are needed to compete against current competition).[5] A disruptive process can take longer to develop than by the conventional approach and the risk associated to it is higher than the other more incremental or evolutionary forms of innovations, but once it is deployed in the market, it achieves a much faster penetration and higher degree of impact on the established markets.[3]."

Disruptive Innovation is glaring examples as entire world has become global village & social media to help job seekers for better Job Hunting in the Digital Age.Such as Linkedin ,Bayts ,Facebook etc. It does not only help to find job but increase your networking power x to socialize too.In old days when job seeker have to depend on Newspapers, word of mouth ,personal contacts to search for job or opening for career doors to open. Now it is just a click away/7 free from time zones or geography .Gap between job seeker & Employer is zero.

Million thanks to social media for helping job seekers for better Job Hunting in the Digital Age.
