It is the speed of processing the work vs. producing a good quality product. Lean is the speed that without focusing on the quality will most probably result in the process failure.

Six Sigma is about reducing the variability of a process or product to sustain quality. It deals with dispersion metrics like standard deviation.

Lean is about eliminating the non-value adding activities to reduce cycle time. It deals with central tendency metrics like Mean.

Lean Six Sigma deals with both; by attacking the non-value adding activity (Lean), and getting the value adding activity done right the very first time(Six Sigma).

Both are project based process improvement techniques:

Six Sigma mainly use statistical tools to reduce variation

In Lean Six Sigma mainly lean tools (like VSM, Kanban, visual management etc.) are used to reduce7-9 wastes and there is only a little focus on using statistical tools.

DIMAC approach (six sigma)Mainly focus on process characterization and optimization.

where as lean is focusing on reduction in waste and acts as a tool that will help to eliminate the operations that do not add value to processes ,product ,services.

Six Sigma Only use to improve the efficiency of the process and to decrease the error precetage

LEAN Six Sigma the two process beside  improving the efficiency of the process and to decrease the error precetage also to incease the OEE Process and Macnine and operator to reach the maxuimum precenage for OEE decease waste and lake of time and to improve on time delivery also arrange the process analysise and routing
