If the question is what an employee should do : According to the motivation process he will surely work harder (E. Working harder than he or she did previously), because he know he is already a known person in the company and any small mistake by him will be an issue for his growth, however if he works harder he wont only get another reward but he might even get a promotion.

and if its about what an employee normally does : It depends on employee to employee.
