First Classify Type of Fund. Debt or Equity,

For Equity Check Following Parameters weightage wise (But check Sub category like Thematic fund. Sectoral Fund,  Midcap/Smallcap/Largecap/Multicap)

A. Qualitative: Asset management Company History, Fund Manager History, Management Approach towards Asset management, Group company Psychology, Customer Focus.

B. in Quantitative Analysis

1. Three Year (daily) Rolling Returns

2. Sharp

3. Std. Deviation

4. Sortino

5. Beta

For Debt Funds : Type of Fund : Accrual or Duration

For Accrual Check :

1. Yield

2. Paper Quality (underlying asset quality/rating)

3. Average Maturity

4. Liquity

5. Credit Exposure

6. Fund Management Expense/Fees

For Duration Check:

1. Mod

2. Composition of Fund wrt. Gsec

3. Avg. Maturity

5. Yield (Fluctuates if movement in Longer/shorter end of the Yield curve is choppy )

You can track how well your fund is doing by either going to the website of the company that is managing your mutual fund and looking for the fund code or name and checking the general performance, or by looking at your personal statements to see how your own money did. Last but not least, you can check in with your financial advisor and they can review your personal account's performance with you.
