Both are essential to employees development which will lead to Organization’s growth.

Training is to introduce a new learning. Usually done by group while coaching is to develop an existing skill or knowledge; usually done on a one on one session.

Both training and coaching have their important places in every organisation.

understanding the differences between  training and coaching can help managers and leaders make sure they use the right tools for the right task.

Basically training is used for things like new hire, orientation, changes in processes, procedures or technologies.it trains something specific and can be one-time event

while coaching is an ongoing activity with each individual designed to keep everyone on track

What I believe is better, depended on how to satisfy needs of each company but the direct way is training.

Definition of Training:

Training constitutes a basic conceptin human resource development. It is concerned with developing a particular skill to a desired standard by instruction and practice. Training is a highly useful tool that can bring an employee into a position where they can do their job correctly, effectively, and conscientiously. Training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skill of an employee for doing a particular job.

Definition of Coaching

"A methodof directing, instructing and training a person or group of people, with the aim to achieve some goal or develop specific skills. There are many ways to coach, types of coaching and methods to coaching. Direction may include motivational speaking and training may include seminars, workshops, and supervised practice."

they are both methods of teaching people and the best way is to use both of them  ,  the difference between them is :

1-trainer teaches group of people but coach teaches an individual ,

2-trainer controls the content and the process to transfer knowledge . the coach  exchanges questions so he must own the content but he will not control process ,

so they are both important because the employees will get the knowledge by training and by coaching they will incorporate it  into their  daily work.

I think training & coaching are different impact on personality of the person. Training objective to teach someone for a specific time when needed and Coaching involved to train someone for a long period its depend upon person to person. some peoples or companies arranged training programs to highlight new technologies but higher coaching services for long period.

So, training & coaching are different impact.

Both training and coaching are equally important. We need to identify if a certain group, person requirement and should plan accordingly.

Managers often use the terms “training” and “coaching” interchangeably. This leads to a lot of confusion for both managers and employees, and makes it difficult to evaluate the outcomes of each.

Below mentioned are main characteristics training and coaching.

1. Training and teaching involve the transfer of skills and knowledge to the learner.

2. The trainer and the coach  are  experts.

3. coaching has a 2-way interaction, but training has only one way.

4. a group of people can be trained, but you can coach only one or two people.

5. students ask much more questions during coaching.

both of them are helpful, to choose one of them you need to think it over by looking at the environment, the available time, the subject and the type of students

Nice Question.

I think the first word means training the mind.

While the second word means training the body.
