Day by day dealing with sub contractor and supplier. Also always keep reading the contract.

When I started my career i was not knowing about how a professional negotiation happens.

I started attending supplier negotiation meetings along with my Seniors. I would often ask them for attending the meeting even if the commodity subject was not of my area. THis is how i got my initial flavour of the negotiation.

Later on i started to deal with suppliers and got my handon exeperience. One of the best way to learn is to deal with suppliers/ customers/internal stakeholders more frequently.

You can also attend trainings on negotiation or read books.

A good negotiatior is also a very good relationship manager, so take time to build relationships.
