How do you transform a low performing brand into a bestseller?

First of all we need to find out the reason(s) of the low performance. Maybe it is due to a low quality, lack of enough advertising, pointing to a wrong segment, ignoring the rivals, wrong positioning, lack of a strong CRM, etc., for each of them we need to take spacial action.

But if we check and everything seems to be okay, so we need to make a change in advertising method, add new characteristics to the product or service, reduce unnecessary characteristics from the product or service to break the price, change the shape, packing or color, take a new slogan, etc.

Totally we are better to be more concurrent with the motion of the society to receive better ideas to present better solutions.

I low performing brand needs innovative idea that helps to enhance product benefit, utility and new appeal. Product enhancement is practically useful when a product/brand is in decline. Product enhancement would normally deploy new technology with market needs and demand to improve brand performance.

Here are the steps I will take to make the brand into a bestseller

1.  Go back to basics of why the brand was established

2. Understand the vision & key goals of the brand

3. Identify the segments & targeting of the brand

4. Identify the competitors

5. Innovate around how best we can serve the customers - product innovation, price differentiation, channel innovation, customer service

6. degree communication of the innovation with new & refreshed brand messaging to the key target audience.

7. Organize brand activation events across key strategic places

8. Create/participate fan groups, threads, discussion forums

9. Get the customer service ready to answer each pain point of the target audience

. Create loyalty programs, coupons, promotions for key customers 

. Keep refreshing content of the brand website page. Make it more interactive and easy for customers to navigate

. Go mobile with brand promotion & targeting

. Liaise with key influencers to promote the brand

.  Build a strong PR team to interact with the media.

. Social media engagement of the fans & keeping them updated about the latest news and developments

. Support a cause which concerns livelihood of the people or a govt initiative and create an emotional connect with the audience.

. Sponsor a global event or a major regional event.

I think the only chance will be available if this product has a potential growth but low market share at this point i can invest as there will be an opportunity to convert it into a star and then cash cow.
