GGSN = PGW and applicable for GSM/UMTS/LTE
Mostly the same physical node will have both GGSN+PGW Functionality to support customers using either2G/3G/4G Access technologies.
It is not completely right to compare UMTS and LTE nodes as we are talking about a completely differnt architectures. however looking at this from the functionality point of view you cold say that GGSN in UMTS and PDN-GW in LTE are both the gate way to the other packet data networks.
