Do you think employers have a gender bias in hiring secretaries? How do we break this stereotype as males to get a job opportunity within the field?

It is well known that females are more calm than males and that's one of the reasons they are chosen as secretaries.

Melas can be better than females if they become more calm and take it seriously.

Employers might have biases to different criteria during the recrutement process. I don't see how can anyone break this unless they have to follow specific and publicly announced procedures, like hiring staff for the public sector for example. This might also be possible in some private sector companies.

This has been the domain of women but I have seen men excelling in this domain

Here's my take on the issue, most people in positions to need a secretary are men, and as I've seen a secretary's job ends being taking care of things for that manager, it's instictive to men to want to be taken care of by a woman, from birth to death they seek that in their personal lives. Now as for what may break this pattern, getting company policies to promote gender equality, of course an all males company board would never think of this, however as more women get to managerail positions and on boards of companies, it'll happen.

Secretary job is for female that's how i feel for it. If you are a male who wanted to have this position you can be better if you look for administrative position or PA position instead of a secretary.
