Who is your favourite character in literature?

My own favourite would be Long John Silver in "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson.

It's a really tough question with all of these remarkable characters all over the wonders of literature. The following three are the most impressive ones I cound think of; but it would be too hard to pick a single name :)
