Why DC voltage is used for testing resistance of Transformer instead of AC voltage?

In case of ac volt , we have additional components Capacitance and inductance , that is way DC will give accurate reading of resistance

Dc voltage is used in testing to check how much pressure can a high voltage cables of the transformer bears.

Why we use a DC voltage testing device to test an electrical power cable instead of AC testing device?
