What we're looking for


As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of our rapidly expanding EdTech startup, you will take the helm of our marketing efforts, driving our growth and success in providing digital and tech skills training across Africa. Your role will involve developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and achieving our ambitious growth objectives. We're seeking a dynamic and visionary marketing professional who excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.


Responsibilities


  • Develop Global Marketing Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive global marketing strategy aligned with the company's overall vision and goals.
  • Brand Management: Establish and maintain a strong global brand presence by overseeing brand development, brand positioning, and brand guidelines.
  • Digital Marketing: Drive digital marketing initiatives, including online advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, content marketing, and website optimization.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Build and lead a high-performing global marketing team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Global Campaigns and Product Launches: Oversee the development and execution of global marketing campaigns and product launches. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and creative services, to ensure successful implementation.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve marketing objectives. Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize ROI and drive continuous improvement.
  • Marketing Analytics and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or similar executive-level role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Expertise in developing and executing strategic marketing plans, including both online and offline channels.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, CRM software, and marketing automation tools.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a growth mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
