As a LM600 Aero Electrical Engineer at Prismecs, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities in power generation plants. The LM6000 Aero Electrical Engineer will have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in systems associated with aerospace and gas turbine technology. This role involves operation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems for the LM6000 units to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency. The LM6000 Aero Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Plant Manager, you will contribute to the overall maintenance and operation of the power generation plant.

Location: This job is located on-site at a customer location.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the Commissioning, Inspection, Maintenance and Operation of Electrical & Control, DC Voltage System, High Voltage, Medium Voltage system and Low voltage system.
  • Execute Maintenance Management of Gas Turbines LM6000 Control System and electrical equipment’s.
  • Proactively participate in the PRISMECS and global Energy health, safety, and environment program.
  • Execute preventive and corrective works and maintenance in facilities and equipment according to OEM manuals, industry best practices, procedures, policies, and guidance from the Plant Manager.
  • Set high personal standards and take proactive actions to report and repair sub-standard performance and equipment installations.
  • Responsible for daily updates on the maintenance history of plant facilities and equipment in logbooks, reports, and digital files.
  • Conduct annual reliability audits and testing on transformation, HV, and MV maneuver equipment and relays including all LM6000 BOP Equipment.
  • Develop procedures for and conduct routine inspection, troubleshooting, testing, and analysis of protection systems, transformation equipment, HV, and MV maneuver equipment.
  • Propose maintenance activities to the Plant Manager with sufficient anticipation (allow the coordination with the Operations department and get the approval to execute the works without impacting the plant availability).
  • Coordinate with the Operations department for equipment interventions to reduce impacts on availability (in coordination with the Plant Manager).
  • Support and train the operation staff for correct plant operations.
  • Always be available to address any emergency resulting from equipment failure.
  • Propose lists of essential parts, consumables, tools, and materials (report it to the Plant Manager who will establish the list of the minimum necessary materials and make the request to the proper department).
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager to support inventory audits.
  • Responsible for prompt communication of any incidents, accidents, injuries, environmental violations, equipment failures, or damage during shifts.
  • Execute scheduled work during control room shifts, including operating SCADA, Protection and Control Systems, preventive routine inspections, and general facilities maintenance.
  • Ensure housekeeping, energy conservation guidelines, and environmental regulations compliance.
  • Capable of working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary work environment.
  • Consult with the Plant Manager over major technical issues and work planning (must be capable of performing his duties with minimum supervision).
  • Perform other duties assigned by superiors or the Plant Manager.
  • Assure the correct use and care of tools and auxiliary equipment by all the personnel at the site.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics field or a related field experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE) license) are a plus.
  • Minimum 3-year work experience in power plants of GE LM2500 and LM6000 gas turbines technology included basic knowledge of Mark VIe system.
  • English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking).Experience with Power System modeling packages (SKM, ETAP, EazyPower, CYME) and electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN), AVR Software basic knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards (CSA, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI).
  • CMMS system knowledge and experience.
  • Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Knowledge.
  • HSE General Basic Knowledge.
