Technical Manager - BULK

Job Purpose:

Maintaining a globally consistent approach to field technical, with clear visibility, resource, direction and strategy to support the growth and development of the organization’s bulk business. Such that we are able to differentiate our services from the competition adding real value to our bulk logistics operation and be the global leader in the provision of technical related services in the flexi-tank industry.

Job Responsibilities:

• Defines qualification criteria for choosing new depots and conducts regular visits to container depots to ensure containers are released in accordance with the selection criteria
• Ensures all depots under designated control have annual audit and trains the staff
• Inventory management including FIFO
• Offers technical support to new customers as well as the existing ones including attending first load/discharge
• Works with Engineers, Manufacturing, Partners to identify areas of Weakness
• Logs in incidents and monitors effectiveness of corrective actions, ensure that they are applied consistently throughout Global Field Technical operations
• Monitors field technical activities (Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly Updates)
• On-site replacement of faulty components, removal and re-fitting of flexi-tanks, bulkheads and lining material.
• Facilitates pre-inspection and sampling in conjunction with vessel agent, Department of Agriculture, Port Terminal and Wine Laboratory.
• Ensures Field Tech staff are familiar with the equipment policy and procedures, including the equipment specifications and manuals available

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of technical experience or relevant experience
• Experience with all models of bulk liquids and/or shipping - flexitanks, ISO
• University Degree (preferably in a related field) or equivalent experience
• Customer focused with great problem solving and analytic skills
• Security and Safety knowledge
• Advanced in MS Office applications, comfortable working with CRM systems
