Job description

·Review, approve, and benchmark traffic study methodologies against international standards and AI-driven best practices to support long-term network planning.


·Authorize and manage developer contribution agreements from EOI to contract award, ensuring financial sustainability of road and transit projects.


·Define strategic parameters for intersections, lane configurations, and diversion plans aligned with transport and urban development objectives.


·Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and global best practices in safety, accessibility, and sustainability.


·Oversee consultant-led traffic impact studies, road diversions, and quick-win solutions; recommend corrective actions to maintain smooth and safe traffic flow.


·Analyze congestion trends, land-use impacts, and structural plan effects; prepare technical reports and implement short- and long-term mitigation measures.


·Conduct field inspections of project drawings, site diversions, and signal operations to ensure compliance with approved designs and safety standards.


·Manage tender processes, EOI documentation, and cost-sharing negotiations in line with Law No. (6) and RTA procurement policies.


·Coordinate new road studies and corridor improvement projects with Roads Department and consultants, ensuring preliminary recommendations are integrated into design stages.


·Lead mobility analytics using emerging datasets and AI-driven modeling/simulation platforms to support demand management and multimodal integration.


·Implement scenario planning and sensitivity testing to assess impacts of future technologies, evolving travel demand, and policy interventions.


·Develop AI-driven traffic models, predictive algorithms, and GIS-based tools to forecast demand and optimize signal operations.


·Update traffic modeling guidelines, digital wayfinding templates, and technical manuals by integrating advanced analytics and automation systems.


·Perform regular on-site assessments of intersections, diversions, and traffic control equipment while working in live traffic environments under HSE protocols.


Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (relevant discipline).


Professional certifications are preferred, such as:


Project Management Professional (PMP) - Chartered Engineer (CEng) - Certified Transportation Planner (CTP)


Experience Required:


6 to 8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or infrastructure project management.
