Job description

This role is for a Coastal Engineer with a background in civil, coastal, marine, or offshore engineering to support the delivery of coastal engineering studies and design assignments. The position involves conducting numerical modelling, hydrodynamic assessments, metocean evaluations, and engineering analyses to support the planning and design of coastal and marine infrastructure projects.


Working under the guidance of Senior and Lead Coastal Engineers, the successful candidate will contribute to coastal design development, wave and hydrodynamic modelling, coastal process assessments, sediment transport studies, and engineering evaluations in accordance with international standards and industry best practices. The role also provides opportunities to develop expertise in coastal structures, navigation studies, beach design, and multidisciplinary project coordination.



Responsibilities:

Support coastal engineering studies through numerical modelling, hydrodynamic assessments, wave propagation analysis, and metocean evaluations. Assist in the interpretation of environmental, oceanographic, and coastal datasets to support engineering design and project development.


Contribute to coastal process assessments, sediment transport studies, shoreline behaviour evaluations, and coastal infrastructure planning. Assist senior engineers in preparing technical reports, engineering calculations, specifications, presentations, and project documentation.


Support coastal design activities involving breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, scour protection systems, beach developments, and marine infrastructure projects. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery of coastal engineering assignments within project schedules and quality standards.


Participate in technical reviews, engineering analyses, and project meetings while maintaining compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, and client requirements



Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree in Coastal, Marine, or Offshore Engineering is considered an advantage.


Experience in coastal engineering, numerical modelling, metocean assessments, hydrodynamic analysis, marine infrastructure, or offshore engineering projects is preferred. Familiarity with coastal processes, wave propagation, sediment transport, and environmental data analysis is desirable.


Strong analytical, technical reporting, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliver high-quality technical outputs within agreed timelines is expected.
