We are currently hiring a CTO on behalf of a well-established Ecommerce platform that has been operating in the region for 10+ years. They pride themselves on being the premier source of goods in their category and are looking for a unique individual to become a part of the fabric of the company.
You will lead the tech roadmap/strategy for the business, exercising your commercial acumen to assess impact of tech initiatives. Working closely with the CEO, you will be a technology and business partner, forming key decisions that will impact the operations of the company.
Responsibilities:
Build and lead a capable and agile engineering team, with the aim of developing best in class next-gen e-commerce products
Technical and architectural ownership, tasked with defining strong engineering processes to ensure timely delivery of new products/features.
Ensure excellent uptime for architecture, database, platform, and front-end applications for faster response time and 24/7 availability
Craft and exceptional user experience for customers, ensuring a frictionless shopping experience to drive customer loyalty and revenue growth
Responsible for general development of the team including; ongoing training and performance management
Partner with functional teams to deliver business needs and provide input to the strategic direction of product development, directly influencing the business direction of new and existing products
Closely & constantly engage with the CEO and leadership team to understand the vision & ensure the strategic evolution of back-end architecture, code-base, and product design to realize the same.
Bachelor / Master's degree in CS/ME/IT/related technology
15+ years of relevant & demonstrated hands-on technical management experience of software engineering
Leadership skills.
Demonstrated experience in large scale development of well-known mobile and web applications
Prior consumer internet experience preferred
Experience in eCommerce, big data, and data science
