Job Description

Job Summary


AECOM is seeking Bridge Engineers to be based in Dubai, UAE. The Bridge Engineer will be responsible to produce the design information and coordinate with the CAD/BIM technicians for the drawings production. Design will be carried out in accordance with AASHTO LRFD, Eurocodes, AREMA and or any other international design code as applicable. He/She may be assigned, if required, to undertake some site inspections.


Job Duties


  • Assist with the development of design concepts, carrying out detailed design of bridges, underpasses, rail structures, stations, and other infrastructure structures.
  • Produce detailed design information including calculations and design sketches.
  • Liaise with CAD/BIM Technician for production of drawings.
  • Plan and carry out site inspections of structures, if required.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Carry out risk assessments and provision of design information for Health and Safety file.
  • Report writing and production of technical reports and documents.

 Qualification


  • Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Preferably educated to MSc level or equivalent.
  • Preferably Chartered or PE licensed.

Specific Skills Required


  • Must have minimum relevant experience between 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in design of Bridges, underpasses, rail structures, stations, and other infrastructure structures. UAE/ME projects experience would be preferred.
  • Shows willingness and enthusiasm, actively contributes.
  • Supports colleagues, seen as a team player
  • Able to develop design spreadsheets.
  • Knows basis use of AutoCAD and able to review BIM models on Naviswork.
  • Relevant experience in inspection and assessment of bridges and other transportation structures is preferable.
  • Verifies that work carried out is correct as per client requirement.
  • Knowledge sharing to junior engineers.
    • Experience with various software packages for analysis and design such as Midas, Etabs, Safe, STAAD, CSI Bridge.
