We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join AtkinsRéalis’ team in Dubai, UAE, reporting to the Lead Geotechnical Manager.  In this role, you will be responsible for supporting AtkinsRéalis’ team on a variety of projects for various clients. The ideal candidate is an emerging professional within the industry with a working knowledge of soils mechanics, Soil structure interaction, reporting and typical construction practices within the Middle East region, and a desire to expand their technical skillset.

• Analyze the data collected during site investigations to assess the stability and suitability of the site for construction projects. 

  
  

• Be able to define the requirement for the ground investigation works and prepare the related scope and specification.

  
  

• The ability to define geotechnical design parameters to be used in the design.

  
  

• Perform geotechnical calculations and modelling to evaluate factors such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, lateral earth pressures, and groundwater flow.

  
  

• Plan, supervise (if required) and lead geotechnical investigations and design activities.

  
  

• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures, local and international standards.

  
  

• Undertake geotechnical assessments and check using specialized software’s such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, LPile, PLAXIS 2D and 3D, Pdisp, Repute and Wallap.

  
  

• Ability to perform soil structure interaction using Plaxis 2D and 3D.

  
  

• Understand materials testing objectives, construction drawings and design reports to support geotechnical investigation and design recommendations.

  
  

• Analyze and prepare recommendations and GIR reports for projects relating to foundation design, infrastructure, shoring, retaining walls, slope stability, road structure design, materials testing, and other geotechnical related projects.

  
  

• BS or MS in Geotechnical Engineering is required.

  
  

• Very good understanding of drilling methods, field investigations, and laboratory testing procedures.

  
  

• Appropriate experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, site supervision and administration.

  
  

• 5 to 6 years work experience as a Geotechnical Engineer within middle east.

  
  

• Registered with ICE as chartered engineer is preferred.

  
  

• Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.

  
  

• Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.

  
  

• Exceptional attention to detail.
