The Group Cash Controller plays a critical role in optimising the Net Working Capital (‘NWC’) across all segments and business units of the organisation. This individual will be responsible for overseeing cash flow reporting, forecasting, analytics, and managing the cash-related processes and systems. Additionally, they will coordinate investment committees for the review of new large capex projects and provide support in executing large projects efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Drive improvement and optimisation of NWC:
Develop and implement strategies to optimise NWC across all segments and business units. Identify opportunities for improvement in working capital management and implement best practices to enhance cash flow efficiency.
Group cash flow reporting and forecasting:
Lead the preparation and analysis of group cash flow reports for short and long-term forecasting. Monitor and analyse cash flow trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing insights to senior management.
Cash analytics and reporting:
Conduct in-depth cash analytics to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate cash flow performance and insights to stakeholders.
Coordinate investment committees:
Coordinate investment committees to facilitate a thorough review of all new large capex projects. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making regarding project investments.
Manage and support execution of large projects:
Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective management and execution of large projects. Provide financial expertise and support to project managers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
System and Process Management for Cash:
Oversee cash management systems and processes, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and compliant with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements to streamline cash management processes.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE



Qualified accountant. Proven experience in cash management and reporting, or financial analysis. Strong understanding of financial principles, cash flow forecasting techniques, and working capital management strategies. Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools and software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, Power Bi) with the ability to analyse complex financial data and generate actionable insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders. Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and implement process improvements. Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

PERSONAL SKILLS



Strong analytical skills. Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working. Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc. The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision. The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously. Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions.
