About the job HVAC ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our engineering team supporting the Offshore Project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and engineering of HVAC and ventilation systems for offshore exploration and production facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operation of critical process, utility, and electrical installations. The role requires strong expertise in offshore FEED and Detailed Engineering activities, multidisciplinary coordination, and compliance with ADNOC and international engineering standards.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop HVAC Design Basis, Design Philosophies, and Engineering Specifications for offshore exploration and production facilities.
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations for offshore installations, including Electrical Rooms, Instrument Equipment Rooms, Telecom Rooms, Control Rooms, Battery Rooms, Utility Buildings, Temporary and Permanent Accommodation Areas
  • Design HVAC and ventilation systems for hazardous and non-hazardous offshore areas.
  • Prepare engineering calculations for: Ventilation rates, Equipment sizing, Pressurization systems, Duct sizing and pressure drop calculations, Fresh air and exhaust requirements
  • Develop HVAC layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, and duct routing plans.
  • Specify and select HVAC equipment, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Package Air Conditioning Units, Pressurization Units, Supply and Exhaust Fans, Split and DX Systems, Dampers and Air Distribution Equipment
  • Design ventilation systems for process modules and utility areas in accordance with hazardous area classification requirements.
  • Prepare Material Requisitions, Technical Specifications, and Equipment Datasheets.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations and review vendor documents and drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, Model Reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, Structural, and Safety disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, and client specifications.
  • Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 8–15 years of experience in HVAC engineering for offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Proven experience in FEED and Detailed Design phases of offshore EPC projects.
  • Experience working on offshore exploration, wellhead, and production facilities is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC requirements for hazardous offshore environments.
  • Proficiency in HVAC engineering calculations and design software tools.
  • Experience preparing engineering deliverables, specifications, datasheets, and procurement documentation.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
