About the Role Sunreef Yachts is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Material Planning Engineer to support the planning and coordination of materials across multiple yacht construction projects.
Working closely with the Systems and Mechanical Engineering teams , you will ensure that all materials are accurately defined, sourced, and delivered in line with project timelines and production requirements.
This role is key to maintaining alignment between engineering, procurement, and production , ensuring smooth execution across the build process.
This position is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of experience , preferably within the marine or complex engineering industry .
Key Responsibilities Plan and manage material requirements based on project schedules and engineering deliverables Prepare and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers Analyze and compare supplier quotations in coordination with engineering and procurement teams Raise and submit Purchase Requests (PRs) in alignment with project needs Track and follow up on orders to ensure on-time delivery and identify potential delays Maintain structured documentation of BOMs, RFQs, POs, and supplier communications Monitor inventory levels and highlight shortages or inconsistencies Coordinate closely with Systems, Mechanical, and Production teams to ensure material alignment Support the resolution of supply chain issues , delays, and discrepancies Contribute to the improvement of internal processes related to material planning and tracking Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 1–2 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain Experience in the marine / yacht industry is highly preferred Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data handling, tracking, basic analysis) Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams Strong organizational skills with a structured and follow-up-driven mindset Preferred Skills High level of attention to detail and analytical thinking Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously Proactive approach with strong problem-solving capabilities Team-oriented mindset with a focus on cross-department collaboration Benefits Work on high-end luxury yacht projects in a fast-growing shipyard Exposure to complex, multidisciplinary engineering environments Opportunity to develop within a dynamic and international team Direct involvement in project execution and decision-making processes
