About the job LEAD ENGINEER PIPELINE
We are seeking an experienced Lead Pipeline Engineer with extensive experience in ADNOC Onshore projects to lead the design, engineering, and execution support of pipeline systems for major oil and gas developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing pipeline engineering activities, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions throughout FEED and Detailed Design phases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead pipeline engineering and design activities for onshore oil & gas projects.
- Manage the preparation and review of pipeline design deliverables including:nPipeline routing studies, Alignment sheets, Wall thickness calculations, Stress analysis, Material selection reports, Hydraulic calculations, Pipeline crossing designs, Tie-in and hot-tap studies
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC specifications, international codes, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, Electrical, HSE, and Construction teams.
- Review and approve engineering contractor and vendor documents.
- Lead technical discussions with ADNOC, PMC, licensors, and third-party stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability Reviews, and Value Engineering workshops.
- Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Provide engineering support during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
- Mentor and supervise pipeline engineers and designers.
- Ensure project schedules, quality requirements, and engineering budgets are achieved.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 15+ years of pipeline engineering experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a Lead Pipeline Engineer role.
- Proven experience on ADNOC Onshore projects is mandatory.
- Strong exposure to FEED and Detailed Design (DD) projects.
- Experience with crude oil, gas, condensate, produced water, and utility pipelines.
- Familiarity with brownfield and greenfield developments.
- Thorough knowledge of: ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, API Standards, ADNOC Engineering Standards and Specifications, International pipeline design codes and industry best practices
- Experience with pipeline hydraulic analysis and surge studies.
- Knowledge of corrosion protection systems, cathodic protection, and pipeline integrity management.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as: CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, AFT Fathom, PIPENET, Bentley/OpenPlant tools
- ADNOC Onshore fields, gathering networks, flowlines, trunklines, and transmission pipelines(Preferred).
- Pipeline replacement, debottlenecking, and brownfield modification projects(Preferred).
- Experience working with major EPC contractors and PMC organizations in the UAE(Preferred).
