Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance for Equipment (Pharmaceutical Industry)


Job Summary:


The Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance for Equipment is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of pharmaceutical production equipment in compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as:
    • Tablet Manufacturing Equipment (Solid Dosage)
    • Liquid Manufacturing Equipment (Syrups / Suspensions)
    • Cream / Ointment Manufacturing Equipment (Semi-Solid Dosage)
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support equipment qualification activities (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and safety standards.
  • Prepare and review maintenance SOPs and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Production, QA, and Engineering departments for maintenance planning and shutdown schedules.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and initiate procurement requests when required.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and address maintenance-related observations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with OSD manufacturing equipment.
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
