About the job PIPING MATERIAL ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced Piping Material Engineer to support piping material engineering activities for ADNOC Offshore projects during the FEED and Detailed Engineering phases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the selection, specification, and management of piping materials for offshore oil & gas facilities, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, project requirements, and industry best practices.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and review piping material specifications, piping classes, and material selection reports for offshore oil & gas facilities
  • Prepare and review Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), and Vendor Document Reviews for piping materials and related components
  • Perform material selection studies considering corrosion, erosion, sour service, temperature, pressure, and process requirements
  • Establish piping material specifications for pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, gaskets, bolting, and specialty piping items
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore specifications, project requirements, and applicable international codes and standards
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Corrosion, Procurement, Inspection, and Construction disciplines on material engineering matters
  • Review vendor proposals and provide technical recommendations for material compliance and suitability
  • Support procurement activities through technical clarifications, bid evaluations, and vendor discussions
  • Evaluate material deviations, substitutions, and concession requests, ensuring technical integrity and client approval requirements are met
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, design reviews, model reviews, and constructability assessments as required
  • Prepare and review Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and support project cost estimation activities
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases
  • Resolve material-related technical issues and provide engineering solutions throughout project execution
  • Ensure all piping material engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, and company procedures

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in piping material engineering for offshore oil & gas projects
  • Proven experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of major offshore developments
  • Mandatory experience working on ADNOC Offshore projects
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials, metallurgy, corrosion mechanisms, and material selection methodologies
  • Expertise in preparing piping material specifications, piping classes, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations
  • Knowledge of international standards including ASME, ASTM, API, NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, and ADNOC specifications
  • Experience with sour service material selection and offshore corrosion management requirements
  • Familiarity with EPC project execution, procurement support, and vendor management activities
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and coordination skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and fast-paced project environments.
