Job Description

The key responsibilities for a planning engineer include:


- Developing project schedules: The planning engineer is responsible for creating detailed project schedules that outline the sequence of activities, their durations, and the resources required.


- Coordinating with stakeholders: The planning engineer works closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information, understand project requirements, and incorporate their inputs into the schedule.
Monitoring progress: The planning engineer tracks the progress of the project by regularly updating the schedule, comparing actual progress against planned milestones, and identifying any deviations or delays.
Identifying risks and delays: The planning engineer proactively identifies potential risks and delays in the project schedule and develops contingency plans to mitigate them. This involves analyzing critical paths, resource constraints, and other factors that may impact the project timeline.


- Communicating and reporting: The planning engineer communicates the project schedule and progress to stakeholders through regular reports, meetings, and presentations. They provide updates on project status, highlight any issues or concerns, and propose solutions to keep the project on track.


- Continuous improvement: The planning engineer continuously reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of project planning and scheduling processes. They identify areas for
improvement, implement best practices, and contribute to the development of standardized planning procedures.


Overall, the prime objective of a planning engineer is to ensure effective project planning and scheduling, leading to successful project execution within the defined time and budget constraints.



Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree of Engineering (civil, Mechanical, electrical).


- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6).


- 5 years and above experience in project planning


- Project time and cost tracking and analysis


- Ability to understand and assist in the planning of tasks for new project


- Effective communication skills


- Data collection and analysis


- Ability to read and assess drawings, BOQ and specs.
