The Senior Mechanical Rotating Engineer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical rotating equipment engineering deliverables during the Engineering phase of onshore oil and gas projects. The role requires strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design, ensuring technical integrity, reliability, maintainability, and compliance with project and industry standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and review mechanical engineering deliverables related to rotating equipment including datasheets, specifications, equipment schedules, technical requisitions, bid evaluations, and technical reports.
• Perform engineering and design activities for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, fans, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems.
• Review and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, process data sheets, vendor documentation, and project specifications.
• Prepare equipment sizing calculations and verify process and mechanical requirements for rotating equipment selection.
• Coordinate with process, piping, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and procurement disciplines to ensure seamless integration of rotating equipment within the overall plant design.
• Review vendors offer technical bid evaluations, and vendor drawings/documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and international standards.
• Support procurement activities by preparing technical requisitions and resolving vendor technical queries during equipment manufacturing and supply.
• Participate in design review meetings, HAZOP/HAZID studies, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination workshops.
• Evaluate equipment installation, operation, maintenance, accessibility, and reliability requirements during design development.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards including API, ASME, ISO, and company engineering procedures.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities as required.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables are completed within project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on rotating equipment for onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design phases.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment selection, specification, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with API standards including API 610, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 671, and related industry standards.
• Experience in reviewing vendor documentation and managing technical interfaces with equipment suppliers.
• Previous experience with EPC contractors or engineering consultancies is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of equipment reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle considerations.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and technical reporting skills.
