Specialist - Business Intelligence

Operational:

• Ensure that inefficiencies or gaps in existing processes are documented and recommend innovative changes to improve efficiencies to management
• Serve as a liaison or relationship manager between the business community and supporting departments (such as the IT organization), for communicating business processes
• Maintain and share business intelligence knowledge by embracing methods, techniques, standards and best practices
• Design the organization's overall BI structure, by allocating responsibilities appropriately, for carrying out business processes efficiently
• Identify disconnects and translate them into improvement opportunities with cost savings or avoidance, productivity improvements, or revenue for generating business benefits
• Establish and maintain BI standards for reliable business processes
• Oversee the monitoring of the external business environment; changes, trends, opportunities etc to improve business
• Insure the compilation of views on consignments and logistical transactions on whole supply chain level for suggesting changes appropriately for business process enhancement
• Insure the creation of standard, point-in-time reports or reports by specific criteria and features for reviewing, analyzing and for reference
• Perform financial modeling (budgeting, planning), for cost effectively progressing business processes
• Facilitate a 360 degree customer view and facilitate accreditation scoring of customers, for getting feedbacks to analyze and change business processes to maintain customer satisfaction
• Perform predictive thinking and forecasting of customers’ behavior for sustained satisfaction of customers
• Reinforce the role of BI in the business and clearly communicate what business intelligence will and will not deliver, for avoiding confusions in executing processes
• Drive the completion of projects within the established scope, while simultaneously planning for and managing unknown future BI requirements in a dynamic environment, for business continuity
• Guide the planning process to develop the vision and business rationale, and establish the overall approach
• Coordinate multiple projects and ensure that the work products and processes of the project teams meet the defined standards for quality business
• Provide guidance and technical coaching for the team members to improve their technical and process efficiency
• Contribute for improving Business processes in Dubai Customs by providing information for incorporating efficient Business Process standards, strategies and procedures in annual strategic and operational plan for Business Processes department and implement the plans made
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor on time with reliability, honesty, and discretion.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Degree in the relevant business area with additional Post Graduate certifications or Graduate with Post Graduate Diploma and relevant certification

Experience:

8 - 10 years of relevant experience with exposure to leading projects, producing analytical reports with recommendations, improving business processes, work simplification solutions, preparing and presenting proposals, leading functional teams in projects
