Technical Manager (Polymer)

One of our clients in Dubai is looking for Technical Manager (Polymer), responsible for leading the technical support, product development, application development, customer trials, product approvals and technical positioning of company’s polymer portfolio. The role covers commodity polymers, engineering plastics, specialty polymers, masterbatches, filler compounds, additives and sustainable polymer solutions such as Therpol. The position acts as the technical bridge between customers, suppliers, sales teams and internal management to support business growth, customer satisfaction and successful commercialization of all types of products across different markets and applications.

1. Provide technical leadership and application support for polymer products including PE, PP, PS, PVC, PET, EVA, engineering plastics, masterbatches, fillers, additives and specialty polymers.
2. Support the sales team with technical recommendations, grade selection, product comparisons, substitution studies and application-based product positioning.
3. Lead customer trials, product evaluations, troubleshooting and technical discussions for applications such as blown film, injection , blow moulding, extrusion, compounding, recycling, pipes, sheets  and packaging.
4. Review customer requirements and recommend suitable products based on MFI, density, mechanical properties, processing behavior, end-use requirements and regulatory needs.
5. Coordinate with suppliers for TDS, MSDS/SDS, COA, FDA, REACH, RoHS, compliance documents, product approvals and technical clarifications.
6. Prepare and review technical reports, trial reports, comparison sheets, technical presentations, case studies and product recommendation documents.
7. Conduct competitor benchmarking and identify equivalent or improved alternatives for customer requirements.
8. Support new product development with suppliers and internal teams based on market demand, customer feedback and application gaps.
9. Provide technical training to internal sales teams, distributors and customers on product applications, processing guidelines and performance benefits.
10. Maintain proper records of trials, customer feedback, product approvals, technical observations and development activities.
11. Ensure technical support is aligned with business objectives, customer satisfaction, product quality, QHSE requirements, and company policies.

• 1. Minimum 15 years of experience in Plastic Converting, plastics processing, compounding, recycling, masterbatch, or plastic technical service companies.
  2. Strong knowledge of commodity polymers, engineering plastics, specialty polymers, masterbatches, filler compounds, additives and polymer recycling applications.
  3. Practical exposure to polymer processing methods such as extrusion, blown film, injection moulding, compounding, thermoforming, pipe extrusion, and recycling processes.
