Qualification


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical / Welding / Metallurgical Engineering)
  • Preferred: International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification from IIW / Alternative: Master’s Degree in Welding Engineering

Job Summary


The Welding Engineer will be assigned at the client Project Office to review vendor documents such as Welding book (WPS, PQR & Weld Map), Welder Qualification and other related welding procedures in accordance with the project requirements.


Roles & Responsibilities (but not limited to)


  • Review of vendor documents – Welding book (WPS, PQR & Weld map), Welder Qualification and other related welding procedures in accordance with Drawings, Technical requirements & Project specifications
  • Provide technical clarifications related to welding
  • Attend meetings with vendor to sort out the clarifications related to welding book comments.
  • Surveillance visits to vendors to ensure the welding activity is taking place as per project requirements.
  • Review, prepare Technical Deviation Authorization (TDA) for COMPANY submission.
  • Work closely with the team to close out the welding book documents on time.

Required Skills & Competencies


  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, etc.)
  • Expertise in materials science and metallurgy
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes (ASME, AWS, ISO)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting

Additional Requirements


  • Experienced working in ADNOC projects, especially offshore projects.
  • Exposure in working with Piping, Pressure vessels, Pipeline, Packages, Offshore structures
  • Knowledge in AGES specifications, Internation standards related to welding.
  • Experienced working with Alloy 625 cladding, super duplex stainless-steel material etc.
