Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications and Codes & Standards to develop welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements
  • Develops and maintains corporate welding procedures (WPS} and performance qualification records (WPQRs}
  • Develop, qualify, write and certify PQR(s} and WPS (s} for client review and approval
  • Coordinate welding procedure qualification requirements with the metallurgical testing laboratories, oversee and witness welding of PQR test coupons(s), review, and comment and approve supplier welding procedures and performance qualifications
  • Provide technical support as related to industry standards, specifications and codes such as ASME, AWS, and API.
  • Work as part of a team to help coordinate failure and root cause analysis on welding related issues
  • Provide technical support for and witness performance testing
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times and take responsibility to report and ensure resolution of any observed safety hazard
  • Participate in welding R&D efforts including the timely completion of all assigned actions in support of company and departmental strategic goals
  • Annually reviews requirements for weld training, and all other expectations
  • Evaluate new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes
  • Contact engineering personnel, personnel of other agencies or customers to exchange ideas, information, or technical advice concerning welding matters
  • Perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials
  • Apply NDT methods to ensure welding quality.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering as per the discipline: Mechanical.
  2. Welding Inspection Certificate (CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2)
  3. NDT Level II
  4. NEBOSH
