We are recruiting for a Welding Engineer with the following details :


Location : Basrah, IRAQ


Duration :  12 months, renewable 


Work Scheme : Rotational, 4 weeks ON and 4 weeks OFF


Job Overview / Summary

Ensure that all welding activities related to pipelines, flowlines, piping, and structures are performed in compliance with Project Specifications, approved procedures, applicable codes.


Experience Requirements
  • Total Experience Required: 20 years in Oil and Gas projects
  • Relevant Experience Required: 10 years in a similar position
  • Industry-Specific Experience: Oil and Gas projects
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualification Required: International Welding Engineer (IWE / IIW) or Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (speaking and writing); Arabic would be a plus
Responsibilities and Skills
  • Key Responsibilities:


    • Ensure that all welding activities related to pipelines, flowlines, piping, and structures are performed in compliance with Project Specifications, approved procedures, applicable codes, and TotalEnergies requirements.
    • Review and validate WPS, PQR, and welders’ qualifications and ensure proper implementation during construction activities.
    • Monitor and assess welding execution on site, including fit-up, welding parameters, consumables, heat input, and workmanship.
    • Coordinate closely with Construction, QC, NDE, and Contractor teams to ensure welding activities are executed safely and in line with approved ITPs.
    • Support qualification, audit, testing, and inspection activities at fabrication yards and construction sites.
    • Review and support the resolution of welding-related Technical Queries, Deviation Requests, and Non-Conformance Reports.
    • Assess contractor welding performance, identify trends, productivity, or quality issues, and propose corrective or improvement actions.
    • Ensure proper welding documentation, traceability, and records are maintained for inclusion in the Project Quality Dossier.
    • Ensure strict compliance with H3SE requirements during all welding activities and promote safe working practices on-site.
    • Provide regular reporting to the NWP Quality Superintendent on welding performance, issues, and risks.
  • Technical & Domain Skills:


    • Strong knowledge of pipeline welding codes and standards (API 1104, ASME, DNV).
    • Experience with welding qualifications, procedures, and field supervision.
    • Good understanding of construction execution and field constraints.
