Job description

Job Title: Software Engineer, micro Platforms

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Remote (Must overlap PST timezone at least 6-8 hours)

The Role

This is a high-ownership fullstack role where you’ll contribute to — and grow into owning — core internal platform systems end-to-end. You’ll primarily work on building and improving the internal tools, services, and workflows that power our operations, products, and AI-driven infrastructure at scale.

What You’ll Own

  1. Contribute to the design and development of end-to-end fullstack systems powering critical internal workflows and platform capabilities.
  2. Build clean, scalable backend services and APIs with clear contracts and ownership.
  3. Develop high-quality, performant frontend interfaces used by internal teams and stakeholders.
  4. Participate in data modeling and database performance optimization (schema design, query tuning, maintainability).
  5. Collaborate closely with product, operations, and design teams to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable systems.
  6. Improve platform reliability, observability, and developer experience across internal tooling.
  7. Uphold engineering quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
  8. Help debug and resolve production issues while improving operational resilience.
  9. Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, scalability, and maintainability in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Experience building or contributing to production fullstack systems (internships, projects, or professional experience).
  2. Strong TypeScript fundamentals across frontend and/or backend.
  3. Familiarity with backend development using Node.js (NestJS is a plus).
  4. Experience building user interfaces with React or similar frameworks.
  5. Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and core data modeling principles.
  6. Familiarity with RESTful APIs and distributed system communication patterns.
  7. Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS (or similar).
  8. Awareness of modern architectures (microservices, serverless, or event-driven systems).
  9. Strong problem-solving ability, ownership mindset, and attention to detail.
  10. Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Preferred

  1. Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or DevOps workflows.
  2. Experience building internal developer platforms, operational tooling, or workflow automation systems.
  3. Exposure to AI-adjacent, data-heavy, or ML-powered products.
  4. Experience working in startup, lab, or high-growth engineering environments.
  5. Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and platform reliability best practices.
