Job Summary
The Senior Structural Engineer provides structural and foundation design, technical analysis, and /or resolution of engineering problems, and also supervises the documentation of the structural drawings in coordination with the architectural and MEP works.
Job Responsibilities 1
Monitor the site works to establish that it is being carried out in accordance with specifications and methods statements. Monitor and Deal with the day to day queries from site, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for the smooth progress of construction activity.
Ensure to serve as reference for all site structural related issues and provide solutions.
Ensure to participate in the QAQC check to ensure that the construction works complies with the approved shop DWGs and MOS.
Coordinate with engineers to develop contract plans, supplementary specifications and construction cost estimates.
Ensure to contract review for structural DWGs (IFT against IFC) and report to commercial department.
Ensure to assist the estimation department in the tender stage.
Ensure to participate in the technical submittals for the tenders.
Ensure to maintain copy of the red marking DWGs for structural scope, these should be obtained during the submission of the WIR.
Job Responsibilities 2
Provide support for structural engineering activities for construction projects, reviewing the data, completing design calculations, interpreting the results and clearly communicating the findings.
Ensure to develop a list of structural drawings and submittals to a program agreed with the Engineering Manager.
Ensure to review the design for constructability and coordination and report on the issues to the designer.
Ensure to verify the design documents and report on the issue and advise on solutions.
Ensure to coordinate with other disciplines MEP and Architectural to ensure accurate coordinated DWGs/Shop DWGs are being issued.
Ensure to approve and provide suitable shop drawings in a timely, efficient and accurate basis to the construction team in order to meet production targets and schedules.
Ensure to supervise and manage the team of Jr. Structural Engineers, Coordinators and draftsman in order to maintain decided production & Quality level.
Ensure to manage the As Built DWGs preparation right after the completion of the relevant construction activity on site, then submission for consultant review and approval.
Job Knowledge & Skills
• Knowledge of STAAD Software.Extensive structural knowledge for Buildings, Heavy Civils and Infrastructure works.Knowledge in preparing reports, designs and drawings.Good level of previous façade engineering design experience including analysis of structures and detailed design of elements in all major materials. Knowledge of Project Management.Practical knowledge and ability in Structural Engineering design and construction.Working knowledge of Auto Cad or other drafting software.Extensive experience of structural engineering building design on multi-disciplinary building envelope projects
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
