The company only could be survive without development since2000s because of interest of each family and misleading on its management, finance and marketing. Actually it is considered as potential field on electrical and mechanical equipments with wide connections, just often failed tender's chances. And your ideas never being considered because of closed minded of seniors, interest conflict and you are just a none younger person who have no freedom to work in your styles and against the properness. </p>

> Are you going to join a company where your future is bright.
If you are selected and you are satisfy then go ahead but if after selection you feel this is not the right place to work then you have the right to resign and search or join another company where you feel comfortable.
Actually every organization required work and only work and about freedom of work is not every organization motto this depend on the management if they are flexible they will allowed you otherwise you have to manage because you need to do work to feed yourself and your family .
Family business or private business not a concern it is your satisfication which matter and you have to decide for your future and keep yourself away from problems. We have this life for once and every day gone will never come back so better think a lot and decide the best decision.
There is some irony in what you are saying. The truth is no matter whether you work for your Dad or a boss in a big corporation you still have very little say or input, in fact corporations are worse as they are just machines and they will walk all over you, whereas a family business still believes they have your best interests at heart.
The only sure way to have the freedom that you describe is to become your own boss, the irony in that is you become a slave to your own company.
All said though, being your own boss is the most rewarding (and sometimes scariest) thing you can do.
Choose another company with the freedom of my family, because my family whenever they are comfortable with you because I am comfortable working environment for the employee and family play a big role in the success of any employee to perform his duties to the fullest

As you mentioned that the owner have conservative attitude and has a lack of interest in re-establishing the business and due to their closed mindedness, anybody else is also unable to sell the ideas even.
SO in my opinion, it is just a wastage of time working there.............. When there no freedom to work on your ideas and to use your skills properly, there will be no success. Doing business / job just for the sake of survival in not recommended.
