About the job Localization Operation Director
Responsibilities:
- Localization Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive localization strategy aligned with business goals, market requirements, and industry best practices.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a diverse team of localization professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence in localization operations, optimizing processes, workflows, and resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of localized content.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external localization vendors, evaluating performance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring high-quality and timely services.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain translation accuracy, linguistic consistency, and cultural appropriateness across all localized content.
- Technology and Tools: Evaluate, implement, and optimize localization tools, technologies, and automation solutions to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance localization processes.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage the localization budget, including financial planning, cost control, and resource allocation, to achieve optimal outcomes within budgetary constraints.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, content creators, engineers, and regional stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of localized content into our products and services.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze localization performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Industry Trends: Stay abreast of localization industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and implement relevant advancements to enhance localization operations and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Localization, or a related field.
- Proven experience in localization operations, with a strong track record of success in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of localization processes, best practices, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Proficiency in using localization tools, software, and project management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
