The Job 


Smart Eye’s Driver Monitoring Function (DMF) team is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who is interested in developing their computer vision and machine learning solutions. 


You will work alongside Smart Eye’s technical developers and machine learning engineers based out of our Boston (US), Cairo (Egypt) and Gothenburg (Sweden) offices, as well as collaborate with peers internationally in Sweden and the United States. 


The DMF team is responsible for developing features that monitor the driver, their safety, and their activity using the latest machine learning techniques. This team is building key functionality of automotive driver monitoring product that will significantly improve road safety and will transform our transportation experiences. 
 


About You 


We are looking for a motivated engineer who is excited to extend and augment Smart Eye’s automotive driver monitoring product. The ideal candidate will have a background in Computer Science or Software Engineering with a passion for machine learning. They are excited to learn and master new concepts, contribute with creative ideas and then execute them effectively and efficiently. 


Your contribution to how we can meet our customers' needs with tomorrow's technology will be of crucial importance. 
 


Responsibilities 


  • Develop driver monitoring features using computer vision and variety of machine learning methods. 


  • Develop and maintain software modules associated with driver monitoring: ML model integration, pre/post processing logic, unit tests and requirements tests. 


  • Develop and maintain KPI reports to measure and analyze models' performance. 


  • Contribute to Smart Eye’s shared machine learning infrastructure: model training and embedded conversion. 


  • Define data scenarios for testing the features. 


  • Debug root causes for faced issues and present results to product owners, team members and customers. 


Qualifications 


Must have: 


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Mathematics with specialization in computer vision or machine learning. 


  • 1 year of experience using deep learning techniques and 1-2 years of experience in general software development. 


  • Experience working with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch) including implementing custom layers. 


  • At least an intermediate mastery of programming languages (C++ and Python). 


  • Clear communication and team collaboration. 


  • Strong software engineering background. 


Nice-to-have: 


  • Experience in the automotive industry a plus. 


  • Familiarity with CI/CD. 


  • Deploying models on diff hardware platforms. 


  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (has worked with Git, Jira and alike).
