As a Senior Educator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-launch phase and contribute to the development of this innovative educational model.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Educator to join our team at the Nature Based School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and psychology, with a deep understanding of child-led learning and a passion for nature-based education. As a Senior Educator, you will be responsible for leading and implementing the educational programs, ensuring the well-being and development of the children aged 4-8 years. You will work closely with a small group of children on the beach, fostering their curiosity, creativity, and love for the natural environment.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement a nature-based curriculum that aligns with the principles of child-led learning and promotes psychosocial development.
2. Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and a strong connection to nature.
3. Plan and deliver engaging lessons, activities, and projects that integrate various subjects and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
4. Observe and assess children's progress, strengths, and areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback to parents/guardians.
5. Collaborate with parents/guardians to support the holistic development of each child, including addressing individual needs and promoting positive behavior.
6. Maintain accurate records of children's learning and development, including portfolios and assessment reports.
7. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the children at all times, following established protocols and guidelines.
8. Stay updated with the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in early childhood education and nature-based learning.
9. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, working closely with other educators and staff members to create a cohesive team.
Requirements:
1. International Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
Certification in these areas is preferred.
2. Proven experience working as an educator in an early childhood setting, with a strong understanding of child-led learning and psychosocial development.
3. Passion for nature-based education and a deep appreciation for the natural environment.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan and implement engaging educational activities and projects.
6. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving environment during the pre-launch phase.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and mentoring skills.
8. Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus.
9. Experience or interest in diving and marine-related activities is desirable.
