Senior Localization Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Localization Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute a comprehensive localization strategy that aligns with business goals and market requirements.
2. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the localization engineering team, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
3. Localization Integration: Lead the integration of localization workflows and processes into the software development lifecycle, working closely with software developers, testers, and localization specialists.
4. Internationalization Support: Advise development teams on internationalization best practices, ensuring that software is designed and developed with localization in mind from the early stages.
5. Localization Tools and Automation: Evaluate, implement, and optimize localization tools, technologies, and automation solutions to streamline localization processes, increase efficiency, and improve the quality of localized content.
6. File Preparation and Extraction: Oversee the preparation of software files for localization, ensuring the proper extraction of translatable content and maintaining formatting and structure standards.
7. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with localization teams to perform linguistic and functional testing of localized content, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and cultural compliance.
8. Bug Fixing and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex localization-related bugs and issues, working closely with development teams to implement fixes and ensure smooth localization deployment.
9. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in localization engineering, driving innovation and process optimization.
10. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, guidelines, and best practices for localization engineering processes and tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Senior Localization Engineer or a similar role.
• Strong expertise in software development practices, internationalization, and localization concepts.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Extensive experience with localization tools and technologies, including CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools, version control systems, and localization management systems.
• Deep understanding of web technologies, APIs, and content management systems (CMS).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality localized content.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile development environment.
• Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
