63414P-Software Engineer 4 (AIDE Walrus team)

Responsibilities:

Network Traffic Processing:

• Develop systems to process network traffic and statistics received from wireless access points.
• Process configurations provided by system operators and configure the system accordingly based on defined policies.

Micro-Services Standards:

• Collaborate with the team to establish AIDE standards for micro-services, including APIs, schemas, serialization, data stores, and best practices.

Software Development:

• Write software using Python, Java, and/or Go (golang).
• Test systems at scale and identify and address any bugs.
• Create unit tests and integration tests to ensure high-quality code deployment.
• Build highly scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Contribute to AIDE’s real-time data pipeline and batch processing.

Monitoring and Metrics:

• Develop metrics, monitoring, and structured logging for the system.

Test-Driven Development:

• Write unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure code safety during refactoring and continuous delivery.

Automation:

• Automate processes wherever possible.

Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively in a DevOps-style environment with the rest of the team.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Go and/or Java.
• 6 to 9 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL, Redis, Cassandra, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Knowledge of enterprise networking features, WiFi protocols, and implementations.
• Working experience with Radius protocol, OAuth, SCIM, LDAP, MDM.
