Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing facility which includes clean room, support buildings and all utility systems. Non-Fabrication Buildings like Office Buildings, Parking Structures, Water Treatment Buildings, Warehouse and Data Center.

Position Summary:

Area Project Engineer is responsible for leading and driving Underground Civil and Module Coordination. Work closely with cross-functional teams and Design Engineering entities developing conceptual module and Underground facilities design and identify areas of improvement, develop strategies, and implement changes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. Will promote building a strong customer focus on projects, empower teams to solve problems and make fact-based decisions to deliver right the first time. Facilitate resolution of issues, improvements and opportunities across all functions and integrated project teams. The successful candidate will be the catalyst for change’ and a key technical resource partnering with suppliers, sub contactors and GBU management teams to deliver a highly customized continuous improvement program.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop Module Execution Plan including Work Scope Matrix between Mod Yard, Field, Spool & Steel Fabricator and Home Office Engineering.
• Coordinate with Marine operations to ensure safe execution of the scope in accordance with the codes and standards.
• Ensure Module interconnects from area to area.
• Deliver Standardized designs and details to simplify the procurement and materials management processes,
• Ensure Environmental requirements for the module yard and for shipping modules to site are identified during the conceptual design phase and incorporated into the design as necessary.
• Develop Subcontract Requisition for Module Execution and monitor progress and interface with the Design Engineering Team.
• Responsible for Change Management and trend development for both scope and non-scope changes.
• Management of Module COG and Weight.
• Managing Underground Services Design and Execution including Gravity Systems, Pressurized Piping System and Other Underground Services like Ductbank, Raceway and Cathodic Protection.
• Facilitate 3D Model development and review with client.
• Responsible for reporting MTO and developing Subcontractor Requisition to perform Underground Design Work. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A recognized bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university with over 20 years of working experience and executed at least 2 projects as Area Project Engineer. Experience in working in Semiconductor Facility Design is preferable.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Prior experience interfacing with customer/clients directly by analyzing performance metrics and coordinating project performance reviews, implementing changes, as necessary.
• Prior experience in managing and directing sub-contractors, construction sot and schedule.
• Prior experience in Materials Management and interface with Supply Chain.
• Prior experience in managing multidiscipline team and providing technical directions and making cost benefit decisions.
