Zendesk is searching for an Associate Manager for our Application Solution Engineering team to join and lead a motivated development team. 


You will be using both your leadership and your technical expertise to grow, guide, and enable our team of hardworking engineers. As the leader of the team you’ll ensure that they're building architecturally-sound applications, and delivering quality applications to our customers. You must also be someone who enjoys working and solving sophisticated problems and has experience designing, deploying and scaling cloud applications on the AWS platform. This role has high visibility working across different teams, working with pre-sales, Architects, Engineering, large customers ensuring applications are delivered efficiently.


What you get to do every day:
  • Manage Projects and Delivery of Custom Application Solutions.


  • Lead Architectural decisions, Scoping & Estimations.


  • Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle and work with Architects, Developers & QA to develop & deliver projects in time  with high standards.


  • Recruit, onboard and retain hardworking software engineers


  • Provide the team with career mentorship and regular guidance


What you bring to the role:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Delivery, Project Management & Software development, preferably in a SaaS environment.


  • Technical Full Stack development and Application integration  experience.


  • Around 5 years proven experience building enterprise grade software and have seen some of the challenges presented working at a global scale.


  • At least 2 year of experience in a role where you had direct managerial responsibility for software engineers on your team, or demonstrated leadership in a team-lead type role


  • Demonstrate understanding of software development by proposing alternative solutions as needed


  • Proficiency working with APIs and building integrations between diverse systems to create cohesive and efficient solutions


  • Strong background in scoping and estimating solutions to provide accurate and realistic project timelines


  • Experience in providing solution recommendations based on comprehensive analysis of documented requirements


  • Possesses a deep understanding of application integration, product packaging, positioning and, revenue analysis


  • Solid understanding of AWS (or another cloud provider) products and services


  • Great communication skills both written and verbal


  • Experience with workforce management products such as forecasting, intraday scheduling, agent productivity tracking is a plus


  • Experience working with APIs of platforms in the WFM ecosystem such as telephony & HRIS is a plus


Tech Stack Experience
  • We write our code in Java Script  and run on Node.js while using Express as our web framework.


  • We use various AWS services to run our workloads and store our data.


  • Our data are stored on MySQL.
