As part of the Commercial Engineering organization, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation to developing modernized applications and services. This group is nimble, creative and shapes our technology roadmap.  This role will be instrumental to enabling the current and future world of the digital experience at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to deliver against existing and future needs of our customers.  The role will report to the Vice President of Commercial Platform and work across the application and platform engineering teams to ensure a consistent and reliable experience for our customers.

  • Be an Effective Communicator – ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues, and share ideas, participate in peer-reviews, and exhibit strong listening skills.   Work with the business owners to translate requirements into actionable architectures.
  • Be Responsible for: Design for future and existing Data Architectures for Self Service Solutions. Ensuring that technology components used are fit with the overall technology strategy. Ensuring that the architecture is communicated, understood and adhered to.
  • Developing technical documentation.
  • Technical guidance and support to development teams. Hands-on debugging skills
  • Work closely with internal technical teams during issue resolution and root cause analysis if needed. 
  • Drive user migrations and data from Legacy to new AWS technology stacks

About You



You're a fit for the role of Associate Solution Architect if your background includes:


  • Have experience in developing solution architectures, preparing and maintaining Business process, Data Model, system, sequence and process flow diagrams.
  • Establish, enhance and communicate cloud architecture, operating and tool chain best practices.
  • Understand and incorporate security best practices for the cloud, partnering with our internal security team.
  • Ability to find resolutions during critical issues like data problems, performance issues etc. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently toward assigned goals.
  • Desirable to Have a wide variety of Digital and Self-Service Portal Architecture experience – across multiple business contexts.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, communication and verbal skills with a strong customer service focus 
  • Desirable to have Broad knowledge and experience with Cloud-native software design, cloud native data stores design and implementation, Containers, Microservices architecture, Data Warehousing, and proficiency in AI models, LLMs, Predictive analytics etc.
  • Have experience working with agile teams and methodologies and globally distributed teams.
  • Ideally have a Development/Systems background with experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Have experience in working with diverse teams, including multi country and company teams.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have a self-motivated, proactive mindset.

  • Hands on Experience AWS cloud services mainly AWS aurora Postgres SQL, RDS, AWS lambda, API gateway, and S3
  • Preferable 2+ years in a development or support organization supporting large applications. 
  • Preferable 2+ years’ experience with Stored procedures, database functions & batch scripting 
  • Desirable to Have Experience in DevOps, IaC (Infrastructure as Code) & Java 
  • Experience in database migration, user migrations and data integration with systems like SAP is must.
  • Required degree level (BA/BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng) in a Technical/Business discipline.
  • Preferred – certification in AWS or other Cloud vendors.
