Role description:

We are seeking high calibre Cable system design engineers to expand our established electrical transmission & distribution and generation businesses. Someone who is capable of performing any detailed design or, consultancy role across the life cycle of a Cable system from concept stage; through design, construction, operational maintenance and end of life works. Ideally familiar with the UK industry, holding knowledge of UK standards and legislation, or with a transferrable skillset.

This role will be based in our Global Excellence Centre in Bangalore

Role accountabilities:

• Create detailed design deliverables for packages of work
• Create technical specifications for designs, contractual documentation
• Undertake design analysis, review and approve the work of others; to ensure quality of the deliverables
• Resolve technical problems, provide solutions, advise clients and stakeholders
• Manage deliverables to timescales and budgets
• Develop personal and company profiles within the client base and wider industry
• Demonstrate advanced contractual awareness
• Manage a multidisciplinary team
  Support project delivery teams, from a technical perspective
• Deliver safe and constructible designs through Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations 2015 awareness
• Lead design and deliverable innovations, which deliver value for company and clients alike

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience of AC & DC cable system development, design, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning, from 11kV through 400kV
• Experience of cable systems design, installation design design, surveying, evaluation of cable routes, and design of mechanical protection systems
• Good working knowledge of CYMCAP, or similar, and of related drafting CAD packages
• Formal academic engineering qualification, bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or, closely related discipline
• Ideally hold and maintain membership of an appropriate leading engineering institution
• Proven track record in UK HSE legislation, Risk and CDM management or transferrable health and safety awareness
