  • The ability to direct the efforts, quality and timeliness of all aspects of the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general cashiering.
  • The ability to identify with the responsibilities of the Assistant Controller and acts as delegate whenever possible to assist and, in his absence, substitute for the Assistant Controller.
  • The ability to perform with accuracy and timeliness all accounting and financial reporting, books, and records.
  • The ability to maintain the effectiveness of internal control to safeguard the assets and resources of the hotel.
  • The ability to maintain all books and records of the hotel with regard to recording and custody, including general ledger, books of original entry, source documents and vouchers through income audit.
  • The ability to maintain the program of records control, security, retention and disposal in accordance with hotel policy and procedures.
  • The ability to ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly and other periodic accounting and financial reporting.
  • The ability to safeguard the cash assets through monthly bank reconciliations, cash counts of all issued banks, including general cashier, and reporting malfeasors to the insurance carrier.
  • The ability to participate in the physical inventory counts and the subsequent accuracy of count, price and valuation.
  • The ability to safeguard the revenue resources of the hotel through accurate and timely recording and checking of all sales revenues and settlement transactions.
  • The ability to prepare the work papers as instruments to provide analysis and control over balance sheet and center P&L accounts and to serve the purpose of internal and external audits.
  • The ability to provide for the efficiency of accounting and internal control systems through recommendation, enforcement, training and implementation and review.
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
