How to contribute to our vision


For the Wind turbine blade structural design department (part SGREEC, Bangalore), we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced structural engineer. The Blade Structural Design Department works on cutting edge technology in an international environment. The job will expose the engineer to a wide range of tasks allowing personal and technical growth and achieving a deep understanding of wind turbine blades. 
As a part of Blades team in Bangalore location you will execute projects in collaboration with our Blade teams in Denmark, USA, Spain and other locations. The Blade Structural Design Department is responsible for the design of new blades for Offshore and Onshore market, tools development, blade handling, certification, validation, industrialization and handling of warranty cases. We are looking for people who are compliant, systematic, self-initiative, team player and consistent with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in all verticals with multicultural international stakeholders. 


What are my responsibilities?


  • As an Individual contributor, working from office, you will be part of structural design and development of wind turbine rotor blade structures. Perform the composite blade structural analysis using ANSYS CLASSIC and analytical methods / MATLAB scripting. 


  • Drive the blade handling analysis strategy. Build capability and capacity in blade handling analysis area.


  • As a Blade Component Owner, responsible for structural changes of blades in production, resolving non-conformities, develop and implement cost-out and quality improvement measures in serial production to improve product competitiveness.


What you need to make a difference


  • Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.


  • You must have Postgraduate in Mechanical / Aerospace Structures / Civil Structures / Relevant engineering from Premier Institutes


  • You must have minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in the area of composites structural analysis and design.


  • You should have good knowledge of MATLAB, willing to get expertise in MATLAB to contribute on automation activities.


  • Good understanding on handling analysis of large, layered composite structures / sandwich panel structures like blade.


  • Good hold on contact analysis in ANSYS CLASSIC and high-fidelity FE modeling & analysis.


  • Based on observations from structural analysis you should have ability to propose an optimal composite lay-up design to meet structural requirements.


  • Good understanding of DFMEA, risk assessments and 8D/RCA process. Should be able to take component ownership.


  • Knowledge of wind turbine blade design, materials, structural analysis, review process, guidelines, manufacturing, testing, inspection, repair and transport methods.


  • Should be outgoing, determined, good team player, inclusive with global team members and persistent with strong communication and collaboration skills. Drive technical solutions, review with internal team and solution providers working across the globe. Should be ready to travel to meet the business requirements.


  • Working experience of wind turbine blade design, materials, structural analysis, review process, guidelines, manufacturing, full blade testing process, inspection, repair and transport methods


  • Wind blade manufacturing process and related operations like glass Lay-up, drilling, painting, handling, repair and inspection etc


  • Knowledge of reading 3D/2D drawings, PLM process, knowledge on modelling software’s like NX / AutoCAD


  • Knowledge on interaction between aero, loads and structural design.
