Job Details:Job Description: As a Design Automation Engineer you will develop software tools and solutions to help automate PDK (process development kit, specifically Design Rules) development. This role will involve working with the manufacturing and design rule definition teams to understand design rules, build models, testcases for validation and enabling PDK Pathfinding. You will use your understanding of semiconductor technology nodes, Design rules and devices and help develop standards to streamline PDK development across all technology nodes at Intel.
This will be a highly visible role, with direct impact on the PDK quality and schedules. You will engage with internal/external engineering partners on technical requirements/discussions and interact with technologists across Intel, to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
Examples of tools/systems include debuggers, analyzers, PDKs, tools, flows, and/or methodologies for design, development, validation, and test.

Qualifications:Minimum requirements: BS in EE/CS/CE, MS preferred with with 6+ years of industry professional experience in the following areas:
- Experience in C++ development required, familiarity with Git tools strongly desired.
- At least 1 of the following areas required: Python, Ruby, or Tcl
- Debug and problem solving skills required Preferred:
- Development and support of build processes using a continuous integration system and/or Makefile-type of build flow
- CAD/EDA tool development - Custom layout experience, Automated PnR, within a Design Automation role involving backend EDA tools (layout editors, tech files, Pcells, auto-routing, macros, environment, etc.) OR design rule familiarity on advanced process nodes. Candidate should be flexible to work on different aspects of PDK deliverables. Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
