Compliance Manager – India Cluster



Purpose of the Job


Manage Ethics & Compliance matters at cluster level in the organization.



Position in the Organisation



Organisational Reporting


Reports hierarchically to the Region Compliance Officer, with a functional reporting to the Cluster MD


Network & Links


Internal: Legal & Compliance function of the Country, Ethics & Compliance function at Region & HQ level, Management Team of the Cluster, E&C Ambassadors.


External: Law Firms, Auditors, Compliance Officers of business partners/customers and financial institutions (e.g. World Bank), Judicial authorities.



Mission



Responsibilities and Accountabilities


In terms of expertise and responsibilities, the position covers the deployment of the compliance program of the company at cluster level in the following main areas:


  • Integrity Program (Code of Ethics, E&C Instructions, Training programs);
  • Support to the Compliance Process & Due Diligence activities;
  • Support to E&C Litigation and Investigations / Compliance Program Enforcement & Discipline.

Besides the above, you provide guidance to the community of the “E&C Ambassadors” located in your cluster and you help boost the enlargement of such community in order to foster E&C awareness in the cluster.


Finally, it shall be noted that depending on the activities in the cluster, the Compliance Manager will be expected to support compliance matters in the largest sense, what may include topics as diversified as embargo monitoring, export control regulations, data privacy as well as the deployment of the Competition Law Compliance Program.


Performance Measurement


Objectives, targets, and performance measurements are defined on a yearly basis in line with the company’s financial targets, the Chief Compliance Officer objectives for the E&C community and the General Counsel objectives for the Legal & Compliance Function.

Candidate Requirements



Educational & Professional Requirements


You bring to the position a Graduate Law degree in your home jurisdiction and/or a degree in a related field well-suited for E&C matters (e.g. forensic investigations, audit). Given the strong interaction between E&C matters and legal matters, as well as the required involvement in E&C judicial proceedings and litigation, a Bar membership certification and/or some general awareness of criminal law and criminal proceedings is a plus for this position. Also, in view of the international nature of the company’s activities, previous positions in an international business environment would be a good supplement to the experience profile of the candidate.

Good inter-personal and communications skills. Ability to develop a role model for others in a domain where the “tone from the top” is crucial. Ability to interact well with management circles at unit, country or regional level.
